God of War Ragnarok is currently leading the nominations and is heavily favored to win Game of the Year at the 2022 Game Awards. Here is what our PlayStation gamer-guru Josh thought of this brutal new entry into the God of War franchise.
God of War Ragnarok is finally here. One of the hottest games of 2022 is now on store shelves and in gamers’ hands. Was it worth the wait?
Hi, I’m Josh with ScreenHub Entertainment, and to answer my question earlier, yes it was worth the wait. I booted up Ragnarok right when the clock hit midnight. A few days later I’d clocked in 26 hours, and watched the credits roll on, what is already being called Game of the Year.
I’ve no doubt that God of War Ragnarok will rake in the awards, as is well deserved. This is one of the finest and most well-developed games I’ve ever played. Every aspect of Ragnarok was handled with care and not once did I find myself wanting to skip a cutscene or groan at the prospect of more battles. I should say that usually, my taste is skewed toward indie games in RPGs, so these words don’t come lightly.
It was an absolute joy to see how deep this game goes into Norse mythology. Watching Kratos and his now-grown son Atreus navigate this world never got boring. Sometimes the hype is well deserved. If you have a chance to play God of War Ragnarok, you should absolutely take it.
God of War Ragnarok is available on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5
