Bernard Hill of ‘Titanic’ and ‘The Lord of the Rings’ Fame Passes Away At 79 – ScreenHub Entertainmen

Bernard Hill, perhaps best known for playing Captain Edward Smith in Titanic and King Théoden in The Two Towers and The Return of the King, has passed away on Sunday, May 5th.

Hill’s agent confirmed the actor passed away on Sunday morning. He remains the only actor to be featured in two films that have won eleven Oscars with Titanic and Return (the highest number to date, the third and final one being Ben-Hur). His other works included Gandhi, Boys from Blackstuff, and A Midsummer Night’s Dream. His next show ironically debuts today on the BBC, the second season of The Responder starring Martin Freeman.
