Bob Woodward’s tell-all book Fear, which documents the first year and a half of the current Presidential administration in the United States, has been selling like hot cakes. Unsurprisingly, the reply from President Trump has been that the novel is largely a work of fiction and ultimately, “fake news”. With his battle against the media reaching new heights, we thought this was a good time to … Continue reading Why HBO Should Bring Back ‘The Newsroom’ In 2019 – ScreenHub Entertainment
You may not know who Julian Glover is off hand but there’s a good chance you’ve seen something with him in it. The 83-year-old English actor has had an illustrious career, co-starring in such films as The Empire Strikes Back, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, Troy, Dr. Who, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, co-starred as the villain in 007 For Your Eyes Only and most recently, was seen quite a bit in the smash hit HBO show, Game of Thrones. Talk about a portfolio. I got front row seats to hear the thespian talk about his craft, his experiences, influences and more at Montreal Comiccon.
The onset of 2018 brought its own set of disruptions that upset society’s normally peaceful façade. With such disorder came a surge of change that has yet to show any signs of slowing. Among these controversial conversations were political talks centred around a push for equality of all kinds – equality for racial minorities, for women, for the LGBT+ community. While none of these topics have emerged as novelty ideas, previously unfamiliar to humanity, their importance has been widely disregarded throughout history by people in positions of power. Politicians, the media, and the big businesses alike have turned a blind eye to the most marginalized groups in society; yet, as this new era dawns, many are determined to give prominence to those whose lives are too often neglected.
With the recent announcements of the 5 Game of Thrones prequels that are in development, there has been a lot of speculation as to what they could be. As you can see in one of my previous posts on the possibilities, it is quite likely that we will see a lot of Targaryen history come to light, including the First Blackfyre Rebellion. In this post, I will … Continue reading The First Blackfyre Rebellion Explained – ScreenHub Entertainment
The Halo franchise is one of the most popular video game series ever made. It’s single-handedly responsible for launching the original Xbox and has since gone on to have five sequels, including the upcoming Halo Infinite, spinoff games like Halo Wars and Halo Reach. While gamers mainly play a Halo game for its competitive and game-changing multiplayer modes, for many its the story that keeps drawing them in. That’s part of the reason why the live action series from Showtime is a great idea. Continue reading “Why A ‘Halo’ Live Action TV Show Is A Great Idea – ScreenHub Entertainment”
(Disclaimer: This post contains mild spoilers for Game Of Thrones)
While Game Of Thrones comes to an end next year with season 8, five prequels have been announced to be in production but only one greenlit so far. Game of Thrones has easily become the most popular show of the decade and will arguably surpass J.R.R. Tolkien’s Middle Earth in the coming years. I think it’s fair to say that we want to see more of the Game of Thrones world following the end of the show and I think delving into its rich lore and history are just the way to do this. In this post, I will be breaking down what these five prequel shows could be and what else could be done with the universe.
Absolutely everything today is public – every post, every text, every email, every tweet. In our internet-obsessed world, humanity is permanently connected through each individual’s digital footprint. It is no longer uncommon to wake up to a seemingly endless string of tweets made by anyone from world leaders to the primary faces of pop culture. However, at what point can we draw the line between free speech and ignorant oversharing? On May 29th, this sensitive issue was brought to light on a global scale and under unfortunate circumstances.
May 18th is a day I did not foresee as one of controversy. Yet, when it was announced that this would be the premiere date for season two of 13 Reasons Why, the backlash was inevitable. This Netflix series first hit the public eye in March 2017 and immediately left critics divided. Based on the novel by Jay Asher, 13 Reasons Why centres in on the … Continue reading A Second Chance for ’13 Reasons Why’? – ScreenHub Entertainment

Syfy, your go-to destination for all things Sharknado, has cancelled its flagship series, The Expanse after three seasons. Based on the on going book series by James S.A. Corey, the show was a tale set in the future, with Earth having successfully colonized the solar system. The show was one full of layered characters, tense political landscapes on the brink of war, wonderful visual effects and a plot that weaved multiple protagonists into one cohesive plot. In fact, I’d say the series is science fictions answer to Game of Thrones.
Ash vs. Evil Dead’s cancellation after its third season was a major disappointment to fans. Bruce Campbell’s return to the series that made him a star was big news back in 2015, and the show proved more true to the original trilogy than anyone could have hoped for, featuring many returning cast members, lovingly re-created sets from the first films, buckets of blood and gore and … Continue reading What Lead To ‘Ash Vs. Evil Dead’ Being Cancelled? – ScreenHub Entertainment
