The big winner at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con was without a doubt Warner Bros, dishing out a ton of amazing trailers and news, including a sneak peek at Wonder Woman 1984, a surprise trailer for Shazam!, a look ahead at their TV programs including a look at the DC streaming service, and killer trailer for Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald; a contender for best trailer of the show in my opinion. But the clear audience winner was the trailer for Aquaman. At the time of the start of this writing, a day after the trailer debuted, it’s still the number one trending video on youtube. The film is due this December and has only just started its marketing campaign, causing a lot of hype and anticipation around the film. Now that the trailer has surfaced (sorry), let’s talk about it and why it was actually a bit of a letdown.
Ridley Scott’s Alien prequels have attracted much controversy. Some have praised them as fresh and innovative, while others have criticized them as unrecognizable from the original classic. Longtime fans have nitpicked both Prometheus and Covenant, but nitpicks are often symptomatic of a much larger issue. The biggest complaint fans had with Prometheus and Alien: Covenant wasn’t character development, plot holes, or even the series moving away from the Alien itself. It was the gradual stripping away of the unknown.
Solo: A Star Wars Story, the 11th film in the franchise, warped into theatres yesterday and earned over 14 million at the box office in under a day. Starring Donald Glover (Atlanta, Community), Emilia Clarke (Game of Thrones, Me Before You), Woody Harrelson (Now You See Me, Zombieland), Alden Ehrenreich (Beautiful Creatures, Hail Caesar!), and Thandie Newton (Westworld, 2012), the Star Wars franchise once again brings together some … Continue reading ‘Solo: A Star Wars Story’ Spoiler-Free Review – ScreenHub Entertainment

Syfy, your go-to destination for all things Sharknado, has cancelled its flagship series, The Expanse after three seasons. Based on the on going book series by James S.A. Corey, the show was a tale set in the future, with Earth having successfully colonized the solar system. The show was one full of layered characters, tense political landscapes on the brink of war, wonderful visual effects and a plot that weaved multiple protagonists into one cohesive plot. In fact, I’d say the series is science fictions answer to Game of Thrones.

Shortly before the release of Alien: Covenant, however, the film … Continue reading The Truth About ‘Alien 5’ – ScreenHub Entertainment

On its 50th anniversary, Stanley Kubrick and Arthur C. Clarke’s science fiction epic, 2001: A Space Odyssey is still considered one of the most iconic films in history. How is it this film has survived for so long? It has many virtues, from its provocative ideas to some still convincing effects work, but perhaps its most lasting power comes from the film’s most significant character, who after … Continue reading Monolith of Mystery: How ‘2001: A Space Odyssey’ Celebrates The Unknown – ScreenHub Entertainment
