‘Mass Effect’ TV Show Coming From Amazon – ScreenHub Entertainment

Happy N7 Day Mass Effect fans. And to celebrate, Amazon MGM Studios have announced that they’re going to be developing a TV show based on the popular video game series.

We don’t yet know if this will be an adaptation of the games or a brand new story, a la Fallout, but it will be coming to us from Daniel Casey, who is a relative newcomer to Hollywood, doing uncredited writing on 10 Cloverfield Lane, as well as penning the ninth installment of The Fast and the Furious. Karim Zreik, Ari Arad, and EA’s Michael Gamble.

Mass Effect is a sweeping space opera video game series that puts player agency and choice at the forefront. Do you choose to play the diplomat or a cold-hearted antagonist? The choice is yours in the game and those choices help dictate the narrative across multiple titles. Dialogue, therefore, is critical and the Mass Effect games, specifically the original trilogy, are known for their quality writing and nuance. Time will tell if Casey and Arad, who is perhaps best known lately for producing Uncharted and Borderlands, will be up to the task. As a fan of the franchise, I do worry the talent bringing the show to life aren’t up to the task, but will hold judgement until the final product is out. Stay tuned for more updates!
