As we all know, we lost the wonderful Ray Stevenson in May 2023, a few months before Ahsoka aired on Disney+. Ever since, fans have been wondering what was to happen to Baylan Skoll, the character Stevenson portrayed who went on to become a fan favourite. We now know who will assume the mantle and carry on Stevenson’s legacy in a galaxy far, far away and those familiar with Westeros will no doubt be familiar with the choice.
Per The Hollywood Reporter, Rory McCann has been selected to play Baylan Skoll in season two of Ahsoka. The actor, perhaps best known for playing The Hound on Game of Thrones, will allow Skoll’s story to continue on, as it ended with a literal cliffhanger, with the former Jedi standing on the edge of a giant statue, looking out to the horizon at an unknown and mysterious destination far away. Clearly, Dave Filoni has plans for Skoll so recasting him was important for the story. Time will tell if this arc is solely for the Ahsoka show, or if it’ll tie into the movie Filoni is working on, which may or may not end up being titled Heir To The Empire.
