Bond 26 Will Be Written By Steven Knight – ScreenHub Entertainment

In October 2024, Steven Knight left the still untitled Star Wars film focusing on Rey. So the question was, what would the prolific writer’s next major project be, considering he left a galaxy far, far away due to creative differences? Well, the answer is a good one, as Knight has been confirmed as the writer of Bond 26, working with Denis Villeneuve for 007’s debut at Amazon MGM.

Knight is perhaps best known as the creator of Peaky Blinders, the acclaimed show starring Cillian Murphy. He’s also the creator of shows like Rogue Heroes, See, and A Thousand Blows, and wrote Eastern Promises and Locke for the big screen. After the 007 announcement, Knight told BBC Radio 5 that working on a James Bond film has always been a “bucket list” project for him.

He also had this to say: “I’m hoping that being a Bond fan for so many years, that will sort of be imbued into me and I’ll be able to produce something that’s the same but different and better and stronger and bolder.”

We’ve been covering the James Bond news quite extensively, and so far, the news has been promising. Both Villeneuve and Knight are talents in their fields without a doubt, and that combo promises a very high pedigree for the British spy’s return to the big screen. Ushering in this new era are David Heyman and Amy Pascal, who replace Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli as the stewards of the 007 franchise. With some solid talent shaping up, we just need to see who Amazon MGM will pick to be the new James Bond, and Knight may have teased that the studio have already picked their man, stating (when asked by the BBC), “Very, very good question and one I can’t give you the answer to.”
