Now that Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli are no longer active members of the creative team for the James Bond franchise, Amazon MGM Studios are fast-tracking the next 007. The first official act under this new direction is to find new producers to helm the ship, and now we know who will be the figures shepherding the new era of Bond to the big screen. Amy Pascal and David Heyman are now the official producers of James Bond.

Pascal is perhaps best known for her work over at Sony, where she’s worked on pictures such as 2016’s Ghostbusters, the Tom Holland Spider-Man films, the animated Miles Morales Spider-Man films, the three Venom films, Challengers, and Little Women, for instance. Heyman has produced all of the Harry Potter films, as well as Once Upon A Time in Hollywood, Gravity, and Paddington, among many more. The studio issued the following statement:
“Part of an elite group of producers who have developed and managed massive film franchises to box office success and critical acclaim, Amy Pascal and David Heyman are two of the most accomplished, experienced, and respected film producers in our industry. We are honoured to be working with them on James Bond’s next chapter and are excited to deliver to global audiences storytelling that upholds the impeccable legacy of this beloved character.”
The duo issued their own statement as well:
“James Bond is one of the most iconic characters in the history of cinema,” said Amy Pascal and David Heyman. “We are humbled to follow in the footsteps of Barbara Broccoli and Michael Wilson who made so many extraordinary films and honoured and excited to keep the spirit of Bond very much alive as he embarks on his next adventure.”
With developing targeting a 2027 release, the reveal of the next James Bond and who will be directing the 26th entry shouldn’t be much longer now. Let us know your thoughts on Amazon’s picks for producing the next James Bond film!
