Featured Artist of the Month: Mohammed Hibban – ScreenHub Entertainment

With so many amazing artists out there, it is always a difficult decision to pick just one to feature as ScreenHub Entertainment’s Artist of the Month. Sometimes, however, the universe drops one right in your lap. We discovered Mohammed Hibban when he subtly commented on one of our very first Artist of the Month tweets. https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js This Talented young digital artist is currently studying, of all things, engineering. Between days filled with complex math equations and nights busy, we assume, designing his own Iron Man inspired super suit, Mohammed finds time to indulge in his more artistic side creating original works, photo manipulations, concept posters, and anything else he thinks will be fun. Mohammed is extremely fan-focused. Being obsessed with superheroes himself, his favorite being Toby Maguire’s Spider-man, he is acutely aware of what fans want to see. He works to bring to life images that will amuse and delight his fellow super fans. Mohammed might even create a custom artwork for you; if you are lucky enough to get into one of the five slots for commissions he has every month. We could go on about Mr. Hibban, but perhaps it’s best to hear it from the man himself. Here is an interview ScreenHub had with Mohammed about his art, his loves, and what drives him to create.

Can you tell us a little about yourself?
My name is Mohammed Hibban, and I am an 18 year old student who is, surprisingly, an engineering student. Science aside I have a keen interest in art, in my free time I just get on the laptop and start creating whatever comes to mind and let my subconscious mind take over.

What inspired you to start creating this kind of art?
I was addicted to the Tobey Maguire Spider-Man movies when I was a kid, those movies got me into Spider-Man and eventually as I grew up I got introduced to the Marvel universe and the comics. The artwork in those blew my mind and from then I wanted to create my own superhero art. One day I saw Bosslogic’s work and ever since then, I’ve been making digital art. His work is just simply amazing and it just inspired me a lot! Ever since then I take my own ideas and convert them into digital art and tell a story to the world with images.
Where do you see your work going in the future?
In the modern day having a versatile skillset is a huge advantage. My primary goal is to become an Aerospace Engineer, along with that I wish to keep my arts as a personal hobby/job. I wish to keep creating content for the superhero fans out there!

Who is your favorite hero?
My favorite hero is Spider-Man, the Tobey Maguire movies just excellently present the character. His high school teenage life in the comics is just far too relatable and that had me attached to the character because I would experience what Peter was experiencing in his life.
Who is your favorite villain?
My favorite villain is definitely Vulture, especially the iteration in Spider-Man: Homecoming. All Vulture wanted to do was to run his family and he didn’t care what had to be done even though he was wrong. People around him ruin his life and what can a man do at that point. That is a very realistic motive for a villain which makes Vulture my favorite villain. His theme in the movie is a dark version of the Avengers theme if you listen closely, he feeds of Chitauri remains just like a Vulture feeds of dead animals. All those small details just make the character from that iteration really interesting.

Can you tell us a little about your artistic process, like what are some of the elements that go into creating such vibrant images?
My artistic process starts with listening to superhero movie scores, those really get me into the zone. While listening I can imagine many different scenarios from the movies. For example while listening to the portals theme, I would imagine Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man in place of Captain America, I would try to imagine how that character would act in that specific scene. From there I open up Photoshop and make a quick rough sketch of my thoughts, then I start gathering references and start adding the details to create my art. In my art I frequently replace characters if you have a look at my artwork. Many fans have different wishes, my artwork makes their voices heard. For example die hard Spidey fans want Tobey’s Spider-Man fighting Mysterio. I try to express the voice of the fans and myself a lot in my artworks too!
Do you take donations or do commissioned pieces?
I do not take donations, however I do take commissions and have 5 slots open every month. Frequently I get requests to design logos or create posters.
See more of Mohammed Hibban’s art as we feature it on ScreenHub’s Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and Instagram Stories. We look forward to seeing more from Mohammed, and we wish him the best as he studies to be an aerospace engineer. Hopefully, it won’t be one of HIS future rockets will bring a slimy black creature back to wreak havoc on earth. Love Hibban’s art?
