A Second Chance for ’13 Reasons Why’? – ScreenHub Entertainment

May 18th  is a day I did not foresee as one of controversy. Yet, when it was announced that this would be the premiere date for season two of 13 Reasons Why, the backlash was inevitable. This Netflix series first hit the public eye in March 2017 and immediately left critics divided. Based on the novel by Jay Asher, 13 Reasons Why centres in on the … Continue reading A Second Chance for ’13 Reasons Why’? – ScreenHub Entertainment

Syfy Cancels ‘The Expanse’ After Three Seasons – ScreenHub Entertainment

by Sean Gallagher

Syfy, your go-to destination for all things Sharknado, has cancelled its flagship series, The Expanse after three seasons. Based on the on going book series by James S.A. Corey, the show was a tale set in the future, with Earth having successfully colonized the solar system. The show was one full of layered characters, tense political landscapes on the brink of war, wonderful visual effects and a plot that weaved multiple protagonists into one cohesive plot. In fact, I’d say the series is science fictions answer to Game of Thrones.

Netflix Is Bringing ‘Fast and Furious’ To Streaming In The Best Way Possible – ScreenHub Entertainment

The Fast and the Furious franchise is known now for being an over the top, goofy action series that’s best described as a Saturday morning cartoon. Well, looks like the good folks at Netflix saw that comparison and decided to make it a reality as the streaming platform has just ordered a Fast and Furious animated spin off series with their new partners.

‘Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald’ Teaser Is Here, My Thoughts – ScreenHub Entertainment

When the first Fantastic Beasts film came out in 2016, I expressed my enjoyment of the film overall but criticized the overall tone and story structure. The main plot, which saw Eddie Redmayne’s Newt Scamander hunt down missing beasts in 1926 New York felt weak and uninspired. Remember that Central Park scene? I wish I couldn’t. But the film was set against a much more interesting B plot, one full of dark wizards, infiltrators and dark magical and it looks like that’s where the magic will happen in the film’s sequel, Crimes of Grindelwald. Warner Bros unveiled a teaser trailer today and the film looks much more like something out of the Wizarding World than the first one ever did!

Remember back at E3 2013 when Microsoft announced a live action Halo TV series for it’s Xbox platform? Yeah, you’ll be forgiven if you forgot about it, or for that matter, never heard about it. Mario and Nintendo had an extremely successful 2017, thanks to the release of Mario Odyssey on the Switch. But the fun doesn’t end there for the popular video game studio-or its lead mascot. It was confirmed today that the video game giant Nintendo will be partnering with Illumination Studios, the minds behind Despicable Me, Minions and the upcoming Grinch reboot, to give us a new film starring our favorite Italian plumber.

“Cloverfield: Overlord” Gets Revealed, Will Be Set During WWII – ScreenHub Entertainment

Update:

At Cinemacon, producer J.J. Abrams offered an update about “Overlord” to audiences. While the cast, director and plot summary remain in tact, Abrams denies that his upcoming historical horror film is part of the Cloverfield universe. Now, this could all be a ruse to distract audiences but Abrams did say that a proper Cloverfield sequel would be hitting the big screen “soon” and that Overlord is very much it’s own, R rated thing (an apparent first for Bad Robot). So why the sudden shift? It could be that Overlord was never meant to be part of the sci-fi universe that is Cloverfield, or that the poor reception to The Cloverfield Paradox has Abrams and company shifting the attention of this movie away from the franchise for the time being. Time will (maybe) tell.

Original story follows.
